All Japan Naginata Federation
The All Japan Naginata Federation widely teaches and promotes the new Naginata both in Japan and overseas. Throughout the year, we hold various events, seminars, training sessions, and tournaments, and issue ranks and grades.
This federation became independent from the Japan Kendo Federation in 1955, became a juridical foundation in 1968, joined the Japan Physical Education Association (now the Japan Sports Association) in 1978, and became a public interest incorporated foundation in 2013. Prefectural federations and municipal federations in Japan, as well as the All Japan Student Naginata Federation, participate in the federation.
International Naginata Federation
Atarashi Naginata is loved by many people outside of Japan and all over the world. Naginata has been internationalized since around 1965, and in 1973, the American Naginata Federation became an associate member of the All Japan Naginata Federation. This marked the beginning of Naginata activities in various countries, and the International Naginata Federation was established in 1990. Currently, a wide range of promotional activities are being carried out, and a world championship is held every four years.

Canadian Naginata Federation
The Canadian Naginata Federation was founded in 2003.
During this time, we received assistance from many people, including the late Miyako Tanaka Price Sensei (Hanshi, 1942-2014) and the late Sachiko Yamauchi Prough Sensei (Kyoshi, 1959-2012) of the United States Naginata Federation, who have been promoting naginata in Canada since the 1990s. Due to the circumstances surrounding its establishment, the Canadian Federation has had active exchanges with the United States Naginata Federation, especially the East Coast Naginata Federation.
